Supporting Transition from Reception to Year 1
- At Lowther, we think about the environment from a child’s perspective. Is it inviting? Is it safe? Is work celebrated and displayed?
- We ensure that routines begin straight away, as this gives children a sense of familiarity and this helps them to feel safe.
- We build positive relationships with parents from the outset, as this partnership can lead to more positive outcomes in terms of children’s learning.
- We work closely with Little VIPs daycare, which is on-site.
- We have transition days and open days.
