Internet Safety

As a parent, you'll know how important the internet is for children - they use it to learn, play, socialise and express themselves. It's a highly creative place of amazing opportunities, but the technology children use every day can seem a bit daunting and you might worry about the risks your child can face online.

Every child is taught at Lowther about being safe online, through Project Evolve ProjectEVOLVE - Education for a Connected World Resources, and this is taught on-going throughout the whole year in class and in assemblies. Through this, we cover a range of topics, including self-identity and image, online relationships, online reputation, online bullying, managing online information, health, wellbeing and lifestyle, and privacy and security.

To try and help parents with the fast moving and changing world of the internet and social media, we have attached below some very useful safety cards which explain how to adjust the privacy settings (including restricting use and blocking, and the App age rating) on consoles, streaming apps and some other forms of technology.
