Hello and welcome to Squirrel's Class. We are a Year 2 class and Ms Thwaites is our Teacher. There are 9 children in our class during the mornings and we join Hedgehog's class in the afternoons and work as part of a unit. Miss Booth is our teacher in the afternoon and Miss Auty and Mrs Pinkerton help us too. We have some exciting plans which include a Tudor Day and we are also looking at revamping our Forest School!
We will have PE on Monday (Action Ants) and Thursday (Dance with Mrs Pinkerton).
We take a reading book home each night to read four times a week. By reading four times to an adult children will receive a raffle ticket and get entered into our weekly reading raffle draw. Please keep note of any reading done at home in the reading log. Phonics, Spelling and Maths homework are also set.
Lowther Endowed School believes that home learning is an essential part of all children’s' education. It gives opportunity to extend and consolidate work done in class; it encourages the production of creative, reflective and investigative work independent of the teacher; it also develops skills in personal organisation and a sense of responsibility.
Home Learning Tasks will be set on a Friday and we encourage the children to complete the task and to return it on the following Friday. This will give the children a full week to complete their work. Tasks will vary from topic work to literacy and numeracy. Some weeks it could be a creative task/project (extra time will be given).
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support,
Miss Booth and Miss Thwaites.
We hope you enjoy looking at our page and reading about what we have been up to! We will post pictures on here as well as our School Facebook page.
